CTVLL COVID-19 Rules and Policy

The CTVLL Board of Directors has developed the following policies and protocols to resume baseball activities in the lowest risk environment possible. This specific plan of action and mitigations has been reviewed and approved by the city and the county health departments.

Facilities:

The following will be implemented at the CTVLL facility prior to any baseball activities:

  • The following signage will be posted at all entrances to the facility 
    • Social distancing guidelines
    • Hand washing guidelines
    • Basic COVID-19 symptoms and recommendation to stay home if sick
  • Bleachers will be an extension of the dugout, and will be marked with appropriate social distancing seating for player use only.
  • Hand washing stations with soap at each field
  • Hand sanitizer available at each field 
  • Masks or face coverings are required 
  • Covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or fabric, if not possible into the sleeve or elbow but not into hands. (This protocol will be consistently instructed to follow)
  • Participants will be encouraged to provide their own equipment to the greatest extent possible
  • High touch areas will be cleaned before each day’s activities
  • Restrooms are the City’s responsibility 

Equipment:

  • All league provided equipment will be sanitized prior to each use
  • Batting helmets, gloves, glasses, and hats cannot be shared among players
  • Bats and catchers gear can be shared if sanitized before use by another player

Managers & Coaches:

  • Will be provided information on COVID-19 symptoms in order to effectively assess players exhibiting potential signs of illness
  • Will send players home if there are any indications of illness
  • Will ensure social distancing protocols are followed
    • While at the CTVLL complex
    • While speaking with players and parents
    • While Conducting drills
    • While at any field of play during practice, training, games, or scrimmages
  • Will ensure proper sanitizing supplies are in place before beginning baseball activities
  • Will follow safety guidelines during baseball activities
  • Will use hand sanitizer prior to beginning baseball activities

Players:

  • Will be instructed to stay home if they have any symptom consistent with COVID-19, including:
    • Fever of 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit or greater
    • Cough
    • Sore throat
    • Shortness of breath
    • Chills
    • Unusual headaches
    • Severe fatigue
  • Will wear mask or face coverings and follow social distancing protocols when not on the field for baseball activities
  • Will use hand sanitizer prior to beginning baseball activities
  • Will use hand sanitizer when returning to baseball activities after leaving the field or bleacher area for any reason
  • May NOT spit, eat sunflower seeds or chew gumMay NOT use “High-Fives” or handshakes 
  • T-Ball and Coach pitch divisions will not have catchers

Parents/Guardians:

  • Will be provided information on COVID-19 symptoms in order to effectively determine if a player exhibit signs of illness
  • Are expected to assess the players’ health prior to the player attending baseball activities. If the player exhibits any signs of illness they will not attend the activity
  • Understand that they are to:
    • Wear mask or face covering while at CTVLL baseball events
    • Not permitted to sit in bleacher areas at the CTVLL complex
    • Bring their own seating, and will be permitted to sit along fence and above the fields in parking lot area along with sidewalk while maintaining 6-10 feet from anyone not same of household

Umpires:

  • Will be provided information on COVID-19 symptoms in order to effectively determine if players exhibit signs of illness
  • Will use hand sanitizer prior to beginning baseball activities

 Practice:

  • Maximum of 15 total persons per field (players + managers/coaches)
  • Parents/Guardians will not be on the field and will maintain social distancing or follow face covering protocols
  • Managers will adjust drills to maintain social distance where possible
